Hello, I would like to hear your opinions on the floor plan. What could still be optimized?

One floor plan is 121 sq. meters (1302 sq. feet), the other is 112 sq. meters (1206 sq. feet); the one on the right is the larger.

Floor plan of a house: kitchen, dining area, living room, hallway, bathroom, bedroom, children's room, garage.

A widening to 10/11m (33/36 feet) relaxes the floor plan along the entire length.
Do you mean a deepening?

Both options are possible, but I wouldn’t recommend building upwards. A bungalow is desired, with all its advantages.

@Nida35a take a look at Landhaus Brodowin... it’s a very good combination of an aging-friendly bungalow with additional rooms in the pitched roof. I think it’s at least a great source of inspiration and a playground for further ideas 😉

Thank you all in advance for the kind responses. There isn’t much enthusiasm for the office, which is okay. However, the office in my old apartment was about the same size, and I felt quite comfortable there.

I plan to equip the wardrobe area only with a clothes rail. It would probably be possible to open the door into the hallway. I’m a bit of a neat freak and would prefer to keep my son’s mess and dirty shoes hidden behind a door. There’s also room there for his sports bag.

I would like the terrace to be located by the kitchen and the utility room. I might add a pergola there. I don’t like it when beautiful large windows are blocked from the outside by furniture. I’d rather look out onto the fields and enjoy the view.

By the way, I have only planned a “standard” window for the living room. I think it’s a bad idea to block floor-to-ceiling windows with furniture. Also, the living room is meant to be a cozy space, so it doesn’t need to be a glass palace. Who realistically looks out into the garden while watching TV in the evening?

Probably very few. But who only sits on the sofa in the evening? In the afternoon having coffee or on weekends (or during the week if you no longer have to work), lounging on the sofa, reading a book, browsing, playing, while occasionally glancing at the birds by the pond...
