ᐅ Floor insulation not glued or sealed to the screed

Hello, during our new build in 2017, I only just noticed in the photos that the insulation boards in the floor structure were not bonded (sealed) together. The edge insulation strip was also not sealed to the insulation boards. The underfloor heating pipes were seemingly “stapled” directly in place, and then the liquid screed was poured.

Now we possibly have hidden mold within the floor construction.

Who is responsible for inspections and any further necessary actions?

Thank you

The purpose of bonding the panels and the edge strip is to prevent the panels from lifting.

Your mold problem (if there is one) is very unlikely to be related to this.

I agree. A 30-40% humidity level is normal on its own.

In our case, nothing was glued, but the entire underfloor heating was fastened differently. However, there are only Styrofoam panels underneath as well.

Installed underfloor heating: white pipes lying on a black grid mat in a construction section.

Underfloor heating: black mat with white serpentine heating pipes, blue edge strip.

Subfloor heating: white heating tubes on red grid foil, blue edge trim.

The spacing looks quite large, or is it just an impression? If not, you will always have to run a higher flow temperature than others, which you will notice in the heating costs. What type of heating system is used?

District heating—they have already complained that our energy consumption is below the average.

The pipes were installed according to the manufacturer’s calculations. In the bathroom, the pipes are close together due to the higher room temperature.

Why should the floor develop mold? The underfloor heating actually dries everything out. Mold doesn't stand a chance there. The silverfish have a different origin.
