Hello,

Has anyone here built a house without a basement on a slope? I would appreciate some pictures to get a better idea. We have an elevation difference of about 5 m (16 feet) from the street to the property boundary, which is approximately 25 m (82 feet) away, and the finished floor level (FFL) is planned to be 1.66 m (5.4 feet) above the street, with the garage 0.5 m (1.6 feet) lower.

And actually, everything is quite different, isn’t it?

I would take one meter (3 feet) from the kitchen to create more space in the dining area.
That was also my thought, since the kitchen seems a bit too large for us personally.

I don’t buy that! Unless you’re part of the 1%...
The original poster has an open-plan area of 55sqm (592 sq ft)... we have the same... most have between 36 and 50sqm (388 and 538 sq ft) for the open-plan space... about 15–20sqm (161–215 sq ft) of that is usually for the living room. Which group do you belong to?

I had some fun arranging the furniture in a 3D sketch. I think you’ll need to move the furniture around a bit to create a good flow in the open-plan living area.

Open living and dining area: sofa, coffee table, dining table with chairs, kitchen island with cooktop.

Yes, that’s true, thank you for your effort 🙂
Which software did you use for that?

I would skip the kitchen island and place the dining area directly in the kitchen instead. This way, you have a nice amount of space between cooking/eating and the living room.
If the kitchen island is absolutely necessary, make it smaller. Do you really need the bar? That takes up about a meter of space in the dining area, even though there is a proper table just 1.5m (5 feet) away.
