Hello,

we have a wall in the hallway about 190cm (75 inches) long and 2.58m (8 ft 5 in) high where I am planning a wardrobe. In the initial drafts, I planned this Pax wardrobe with sliding doors, next to which there is a bench (Besta system). Above that, there are also Besta wall cabinets.

Now I have seen that the Platsa system also offers a good option to combine this and it seems easier to assemble. However, I am wondering if the quality (long-term durability; "feel/texture") is sufficiently good?

Unfortunately, I cannot directly compare these two systems at the moment – has anyone already compared both systems and has experience with where exactly the differences between Pax and Platsa are?

PAX is very simple in its construction, highly versatile in interior design, and offers a good price-quality ratio. I find Platsa to be significantly less premium.

Jo and Besta are also much cheaper junk compared to PAX. You can tell by the weight and the use of plastic instead of cast metal mounting parts.

Regarding quality in comparison, I cannot say anything since I do not own Platsa yet.

In general, looking at the selection, Platsa offers more cabinet size options, allowing for better room customization. PAX, on the other hand, provides a much wider range of configuration variants.

As an idea: I created a similar solution in the hallway, combining PAX with METOD. METOD wall cabinets were extended with legs to form the bench, with METOD wall cabinets above. The niche was lined with side panels. The PAX unit on the right is 600mm (24 inches) deep; I had to make it narrower towards the left because the front door is located there.

Is the METOD on the far left? What depth does it have, and can winter coats fit on hangers there?

Otherwise, I find METOD clever because of the legs and the matching plinth/kickboard.
