Hello everyone, the screed will be installed in our house next week. Since we are a bit behind schedule, we would like to start plastering, then flooring, and painting earlier than the usual 6 weeks.
My question is whether this is even possible.
We have an air-to-air heat pump, which should definitely help with the drying process. Additionally, three dehumidifiers will be set up.

What do you think?
From when would it be possible?
Does it depend on screed measurements?

Unfortunately, I don’t know what type of screed is being used. I only know that the building has three floors and that the screed thickness is 15cm (6 inches) on the lower floor and 12cm (5 inches) on the upper floor.
Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

My condolences.

Yes, screed as you say depends on the measurements.
What kind of plaster? It should already be applied on the wall before the screed.

It is possible to have a fast-setting screed applied for an additional cost. This type of screed contains water-binding additives, allowing it to be ready for covering after just a few days. We have this kind of screed, and it caused no issues.

By plaster, I mean the Q3 skim coat. Since this is a DIY task, it will be done after the screed. My builder doesn’t want to do it with additives because he hasn’t had good experiences with them. We are now planning to do the plastering after 5 weeks, and then the flooring. Just thought maybe someone has experience with this.

Well, you can do the plastering even after 2 weeks, as most of the moisture will be gone by then, and you’ll be ventilating three times a day anyway.
Plastering and sanding also take time, as does painting, so you can only start with the flooring after at least 6 weeks. That works out fine.

I agree with Lumpi, you can do the drywall compound before. We have been applying the compound since the temperatures dropped after the heating phase; otherwise, everything will crack again.
