ᐅ Company Meister – Experience with Luxury Vinyl Flooring or Should You Consider Hardwood Flooring Instead?

Hello,
does anyone have experience with the design flooring from Meister? We like the DL800 Schloss Oak. It seems it can either be glued down or clicked together. In the living area, we’d probably glue it down since the kitchen is there and the kitchen installer prefers a glued floor. Does that make sense for this type of flooring, or is it not really suitable for gluing?
We also have the “problem” of leveling it with the tiles in the hallway. That should be about 7mm (¼ inch), considering the tiles are around 15mm (⅝ inch) thick in total. Can you feather or taper the leveling compound for this kind of floor?
Do you have any other great alternatives that come to mind? Design flooring alternatives are welcome as well.

We have also been considering parquet for a long time and have samples from Meister here. But since the floor will also be in the kitchen and we have small children and pets, we weren’t sure if parquet would be a good choice for us… Can anyone share their experience?

Thank you!

There are so many options on the market, and I don’t mean that negatively at all. Everyone has something different and naturally praises their own product.
I have also seen very nice laminate flooring, even though I wouldn’t necessarily want it myself. Opinions from others only help to a limited extent.
I ordered my Meister parquet online from Hesse without any problems—you can check with a search engine, there aren’t that many suppliers. Almost everyone carries it, as I said, for example, Haro does too.

That’s exactly what makes it so difficult, having so many options 😀 We simply liked one design from Meister and stuck with it. We just didn’t know whether it’s really suitable for both click and glue installation, or if one of those two methods is better for that flooring. Unfortunately, the manufacturer doesn’t provide any information about that.

Which series do you have there?

DD400 flex design flooring
Light field oak
PVC-free
Beveled edges all around

For insulation, we used Meister-Silence with a vapor barrier. Thanks to the adhesive foil tape, it’s very stable to walk on.
Upstairs, we had cheaper material that kept cracking when unrolled and had to be secured against rolling back during installation.

Yes, that’s true. We also have an appointment with a flooring installer. Due to COVID-19, it’s all a bit difficult since you can’t meet anyone on site. Over the phone, they (at least here) don’t provide the desired information. I have already spoken with several Meister distributors and was always somewhat brushed off with the response that we will discuss it once it’s our turn to make a selection...

Don't be afraid of using parquet flooring in living and kitchen areas with children; we had it for 20 years.
If something falls, it won't chip, at most there will be a dent. Our wear layer was 8mm (0.3 inches), to allow for sanding and such.
After the first 5 dents, sanding stopped and discussions ended.
Light signs of use actually make parquet more attractive, and it’s always warm to sit and play on.
