Hello,
We have a single-family house with a Berlin wave tile roof. The roof is now about 30 years old and urgently needs to be replaced, as the structure is no longer sufficient.
Unfortunately, due to weight restrictions, traditional roof tiles cannot be installed. The maximum weight allowed is around 15kg/m² (3.1 lbs/ft²).
Of course, there are alternatives to roof tiles, but I am not familiar with them. Does anyone have experience with any kind of lightweight roofing? It is especially important to me that the roof is not too noisy inside the house during rain, which might be an issue with metal roofs.
I look forward to your suggestions.
Best regards
Edit: As an example, we found something from Prefa that fits the weight requirement. However, I would appreciate it if someone has experience with these or other manufacturers.

And, according to my information, the ceiling joists are connected to the roof rafters and form "one structure," so it would probably be very difficult to reinforce the whole thing.Have you already described this somewhere with pictures?https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/

Do you think so? I don’t.I find nearly 33,000 euros for Berliner Welle quite a steep price, especially in a rural and economically weak area.

Have you already described this somewhere with pictures? No, that’s not possible for me. I have this statement from my father. But a structural engineer was also here and unfortunately confirmed that there are no other options.
What is included?
Scaffolding (bungalow), demolition work, plumbing work (roof pipe, downpipe, etc.), roofing (including underlay membrane, counter battens, battens).
Basically everything you need for roof renovation.

Scaffolding (bungalow), demolition work, plumbing work (roof pipe, downpipe, etc.), roof covering (including underlay membrane, counter battens, supporting battens) Even with a detailed scope of work, I still believe the price is completely reasonable. It will only be cheaper if done off the books. The Berlin profile roofing sheets will cost around €35 gross when purchased wholesale (not the cheapest online offers). On top of that, battens and other materials plus a proper amount of labor time are needed.

No, that’s not possible for me either. So there is no explanation in any plan drawing or similar documents that the roof and ceiling beams are connected to each other?

So the fact that the roof and ceiling joists are connected is not explained in any plan drawing or similar?Yes, it certainly is. However, my father has the documents, and the statement came after a site inspection with a structural engineer. I didn’t inquire further because I accepted the explanation that reinforcing the roof was not possible.Similar topics
