Good evening, dear forum members,

For several months now, I have been reading your posts with great interest. Now it’s our turn, and we would like to slowly start the house-building project. What we still need is a suitable builder who offers good value for the price.

Details:
A single-family house is to be built
Location is in Schleswig-Holstein (near Schleswig)

Builders we have shortlisted so far:
Virtus Massivhaus, Stollhaus, and Matthias Hansen Bau.

We have focused on regional providers. However, we have found almost no experiences regarding the latter so far. Virtus is one of the more affordable builders, but opinions about it seem to be mixed. We have also found very few experiences with Stollhaus.

What do you think about these three builders? Has anyone had concrete experience and can share how the discussions and, especially, the construction went?

Is a KfW house mandatory or advisable nowadays? And which builders have we overlooked that we should perhaps look into more closely?
I would be grateful for any feedback.

Your family Pumpernickel

A property developer sells you the house and land as a package. Usually, you don’t have to "search" for them. 😉
You are looking for a general contractor / main contractor.

Haha, we just had this topic the other day:

Just because they don’t have a nice website doesn’t necessarily mean they are good.

Regarding that Hansen company, I would normally say after seeing the poor website, definitely avoid them. Oh dear, I wonder what their web designer does as their main job. Even the (hopefully) stock photo of the wall, which I could have made better myself, actually works more as a deterrent. Customers couldn’t care less who their electrical supplier is. At least there is a decent introductory brochure available as a PDF download, straightforward and without any catches or address collection. But feel free to check them out in person – my gut feeling says they just ended up with the wrong specialist for internet stuff.
I found Virtus’s information well structured and it was very clear which area they cover geographically. Stoll and Virtus are both larger than this Hansen; I would probably consider all three worthy of closer contact.

We built with Kagebau and were very satisfied, although they are somewhat more expensive. Alternatively, we also considered TeamMassivhaus (discussion and offer) and Nissen Massivhaus (only catalog and phone call).

What was your impression of Nissen? And how are their prices positioned?

The first impression during the phone call was positive. Down-to-earth and honest. Since no quote was provided, I cannot comment on the price. However, I can imagine they are priced somewhere between Kage and TeamMassivhaus.
