Hello,
We need to decide on doors soon.
At the moment, we are interested in flush white lacquered doors from KTM, the Cube model.
They are, of course, quite expensive.
We are now considering whether it really makes sense to install the same doors in the basement.
Our basement is not living space, but it is fully tiled and properly plastered and skim-coated as a waterproof concrete basement.
How did you handle this in your new build? All the same doors or different ones?
The suppliers we visited recommend staying with the same system for the sake of appearance.
Best regards

The suppliers we visited naturally recommend staying within the same system for aesthetic reasons. Visually, these are the doors of your choice and probably look nice in the basement as well. The question is the total additional cost of this decision and whether it’s worth it to you, or if you could perhaps afford something else by saving that amount.
If it’s just a regular basement, I wouldn’t go for it if the price is quite high.

Then I can tell you whether I would do it or not!

What kind of styling queen are you to want the same door design in the basement as on the living floors? Do you also have a leather-covered spare wheel well in your car?

There are 3 basement doors, and the additional cost would be about 300€ per door.
It's not really about the money for me, but rather whether painted doors might be too delicate for a utility basement. You often store and handle items there that wouldn’t belong in the living area.

In there, you also store and handle items that have no place in the living area. There you go. So you have a direction. Cheaper cellar doors.
