Appel200012 Jan 2021 09:16Good morning everyone,
Here is the situation:
Bathroom
A drywall partition with metal studs
Double-layered and additionally reinforced with wood/OSB at (hopefully) the crucial points
Tiles are already installed
Now, a wall-mounted vanity cabinet with a washbasin is to be installed here.
Unfortunately, I’m concerned we didn’t consider the weight enough.
My gut feeling says it should hold, but I don’t want to rely on that alone and prefer to be as safe as possible.
According to the installation instructions, the cabinet should be screwed to the wall at a total of 8 points.
I am now looking for the "best" anchors/screws/fastening options suitable for this purpose.
Classic metal hollow wall anchors from F....?
Or are there other alternatives?
Thanks for your advice,
best regards

The anchors will hold it,
this (hopefully) should be clarified in advance.
When purchasing a vanity unit, it comes with installation instructions, and the metal rails in the drywall should align with the mounting points.
Do you have a photo of the metal framework? If not, a stud finder might help.
Otherwise, there is a risk with a wall-mounted vanity unit.

Just pick some anchors from F.... or whoever you prefer.
Unless you have a concrete base cabinet.

including the washbasin Uh, isn't the washbasin mounted on threaded rods (pre-wall element or embedded directly into the wall)?

the metal channels of the drywall construction should align with the mounting points. That is unnecessary nonsense.

I can’t say whether the fixing points align with the metal rails of the drywall construction, but they definitely hit the wooden reinforcements.
A metal detector would be an option if I knew where to get one. But it can be arranged.

Uh, the washbasin isn’t fixed to threaded rods (installed in a pre-wall frame or directly embedded in the wall)? No, it’s a countertop washbasin.
Do the above-mentioned weight values apply per fixing point? Or for the entire wall? Probably per point, right?
I just noticed, kilograms per meter...

Was a mounting panel made of wood possibly installed? This is often done even for the washbasin. As I said, OSB was installed behind the drywall panels for reinforcement.
