I thought a garden chat and photo thread would be a good idea.
This way, we have a space to share current pictures and discuss dandelions and other plants.

My wife said to me yesterday, "Hey, why don’t we burn the Christmas tree in the garden? :p" Usually, our youth club collects it for a small donation. Yes, I know it smokes and smells. But joking aside, who has a fire bowl? If so, what should you watch out for?

And moss can be treated with nitrogen fertilizer, but first, investigate the causes, such as waterlogging or overly compacted soil.

We have the shell and the basket.

Careful about what?

What is better, for example, with an ash container or cover, etc.? Or is it better to have just a basket for making the fire, etc.?

I have this one in mind with a lid.

Black square coffee table with open inner space and a base underneath.

I occasionally remove the ash with a shovel. If I only burn untreated wood, I spread the ash in the garden.
No ash pan is necessary.
No cover either. Just make sure there are small holes at the bottom to allow water to drain. Sometimes you still need to extinguish the fire.

Basket, bowl, round, square—it's a matter of personal preference.
Our basket has an insert for charcoal and a grill grate.
The bowl offers space for the coffee pot, Dutch oven, and the Muurikka.

But no one actually keeps their distance. As soon as they reach their destination, everyone just moves around like ants.

I find the current discussion simply pathetic and hostile. Accusing families of wanting to go on an outing is bold and can only come from politicians or childless people living in their own bubble.

Isn’t the selfishness actually the bold and pathetic part? No one has to go on trips. Next, we’ll hear about "childhood being taken away." Adults, not just children, would also like to do activities. Older people who want to fulfill their dreams while they still can physically, but now (or no longer) can’t...

It is the rightful freedom of already heavily restricted people to travel to a nice spot of their choice. No nursing home resident dies because some people are stuck in traffic in the Black Forest; there are other causes.

… Your words. But such a person would rather stay home now than encounter many younger people who desperately want to enjoy the weather and thereby increase the risk of infection.

By the way, I have a day off today, in case anyone wonders^^. I work in healthcare, and I want to do something different with my children on the weekend than just walk laps around the overcrowded park.

Yes, me too. For months, it’s always the same boring routine: where do we go for a walk this time? But tell me: what’s your problem with going through a dry spell? You’re really wimps. It’s frustrating for everyone. But what’s even more frustrating is that, despite vaccination, the mask mandate will always remain because 10% think they have the right to have fun. As long as this selfish attitude exists, we won’t get out of this misery.

Isn’t that selfishness rather cheeky and pathetic? No one has to go on trips. Soon there will be complains about “stealing childhood.” Adults, not just children, would also like to do activities. Older people who want to fulfill their dreams while they still physically can, but now can’t (anymore)...

Yes, I want that too. For months, the same crap: where shall we go for a walk this time? But tell me: what’s your problem with going through a dry spell? You’re really wimps. It’s annoying for everyone. But even more annoying is that despite vaccination there will still be mask mandates because 10% think they have the right to have fun. As long as this unsupportive attitude exists, we won’t get out of this mess.

And with that, I’m out. Every day I expose myself to a significantly increased risk of infection to keep things running in the medical field, and then I have to deal with rude comments. Thanks for that. It reminds me again why I do this.
