ᐅ Mount curtain rods higher or let the roller shutter strap show?

I am currently considering curtains or curtain rods for the living room. Now I’m thinking about the best way to install them. I noticed that our roller shutter cords extend quite high. Is that normal? This only became obvious to me when I started thinking about the curtains. If I mount a curtain rod at the usual height above the window, a piece of the roller shutter cord sticks out at the top. I wonder if that looks good? I could install everything higher, but then the curtains would basically start right below the ceiling.

How have you solved this (for those who don’t have electronic shutters)?

I attended school before Pisa, and roller shutter tapes were still spelled with two "L"s back then and, by the way, they are inserted near the bottom edge of the boxes. I don’t see it as a real issue. It’s probably not what people will remember at your funeral ;-)

You probably missed this introduction. At the end of my school years, the German "brothers and sisters" were still separated by a "protective barrier" and were greeted separately by Kuli, Blacky, Big Wim & Co. The spelling of "ketchup" (!) wasn’t heavily debated until much later (shortly before long-term dropouts were rewarded with academic failures — originally meant differently, but who cares).

... But I would generally install curtain rods as high as possible (and keep the curtains as long as possible).

There are curtain tracks that are designed to be mounted directly on the ceiling. For example, from Ikea.
