Would you accept the sealing of the roofing underlay?
Our installer believes this is acceptable.
In one of the pictures, you can see how the roofer sealed a ventilation pipe; this is how I imagine a proper sealing should look.
What are your thoughts?

I can’t believe that this makeshift solution with tape is considered acceptable. Aren’t there any proper, sealed cable or pipe penetrations? I don’t know much about this, but it surprises me.
They do exist; I’ve already shown them to the installer, but unfortunately, he refuses to use them.

It is actually allowed, and from the pictures, it also looks like various companies might have carried it out? Any leaks would definitely show up during the blower door test.

As far as I know, the blower door test has nothing to do with the breathable roofing membrane; its only purpose is to keep moisture out from the outside.

Well, it is quite normal for slots, cracks, and openings to be sealed with tape. After all, these seals also accommodate the movements of the sheets/foils.

Why not, if you cover the cost?
At our place, the pipe penetrations on the outside had collars that were glued to the underlay membrane.

For the vapor barrier, it’s also best to use collars on the inside and fix them with the excellent Sigaband. After that, conduct the blower door test (after screed and window installation). Some use collars, others don’t. If the client pays the extra cost, it shouldn’t be an issue.
