We have now reached the painting stage and have received a quote. The following net prices are the basis:

Priming walls and ceilings: €1.80 per sqm (sq ft)
Filling and sanding drywall ceilings and walls 3 to 4 times: €2.50 per sqm (sq ft) (Why 3 to 4 times?)
Applying textured wallpaper and dispersion paint: €7.65 per sqm (sq ft)
Priming screed, applying liquid screed, and sanding: €8.50 per sqm (sq ft)
Gluing design flooring: €12.50 per sqm (sq ft)
Filling and sanding ceilings and walls in bathrooms with silicate filler, plus two coats of silicate paint: €8.90 per sqm (sq ft)
Laminating flooring (installation only): €6.30 per sqm (sq ft)

Is this reasonable or too expensive?

I almost get the impression that the price is too low to get good quality materials as well as acceptable workmanship?

But that’s just my gut feeling.

There are far too many details missing, such as the type of flooring and the total square meters of wall and floor area. The design flooring is vinyl. It is available as a "click" system for about €17/m² (about $17/sq ft) or fully glued down (which is suggested by the floor preparation)
The vinyl flooring costs €17.80 net per square meter (about $17.80 per sq ft) and will be glued down.

I also find that quite cheap. To be honest, even far too cheap. $13.5 for painting and flooring for the entire house? Something must be wrong there.

€6.-/sqm for installation, which means about €70 for an entire children's room, for example.
Can you send me the phone number? I'll take it as well.
At least this item is basically free of charge.

They are simply installing standard laminate flooring in the "slightly better attic area."

Filling and sanding is a tedious and time-consuming task... Where exactly is there still room to screw anything in now?

The guy is a master painter, but a sole proprietor.

And why does that have to be done 3 to 4 times?

The house isn’t that big anyway. Some rooms have tiled floors, so that already excludes flooring. And then it’s just simple textured wallpaper.
