Hello everyone,
In our future house, an air-to-water heat pump from Daikin (Altherma 3 R ECH2O 308/508 H/C (H) (Biv) 8kW) will be installed. We now want to replace the analog heating thermostats with digital ones. Since there are countless options available, I wanted to ask here if you could recommend any. They don’t need to be smart home compatible.

We did not look into heating system design or heating load calculations beforehand, just like 95% of all homeowners. The air-to-water heat pump works. The annual electricity consumption for the heat pump and domestic hot water is about 3000 kWh, and household electricity use for lighting, refrigerators, sauna, cooking, etc. is also around 3000 kWh. Since we maintain different room temperatures by turning off certain rooms and leaving windows slightly open—for example, the bedroom is currently at 16°C (61°F)—we might be able to save some energy. However, sleeping with closed windows is not an option for us.
Happy New Year, Nida

Happy New Year, Nida Thanks. Do you have a separate meter for the heat pump electricity?
A different question: how long did your construction process take with Mein Haus?

1. yes
2. it can’t be done faster than 7 months; in our case, due to energy certification and scheduling, it took 10 months We were promised 6 to 7 months, possibly even 5 months (this still needs to be clarified). For the energy certification, we only have painter and flooring work left, which we can also complete after partial move-in.
