Hello
I would like to create an opening from the basement to the garage in my future house. The garage was added as a prefabricated garage to the house during construction (1998).
I want to make the opening on the side of the black box (picture) and install a steel door. The basement wall is made of B25 concrete with a thickness of 24cm (9.5 inches).
Who can do this kind of work (mason?)? I assume that the structural integrity needs to be checked. Would a confirmation from a structural engineer be sufficient? Can I get a building permit / planning permission for this? Also, can someone roughly estimate the price including the door?
Regards
Thomas
