Hello everyone,
I need some advice.
We have now decided to build more or less "on our own." The financing is in place, and the preliminary draft of the notary contract for the land is ready... so things are moving forward.
Yesterday, we attended a building trade fair and visited a booth of a major building materials supplier in our region.
Since the staff there didn’t really have time for a consultation, we just took some brochures with us.
Up until now, we planned to build walls with sand-lime bricks and apply appropriate insulation.
Now we have a brochure from Wienerberger presenting a filled Poroton brick that is finished with just a thin layer of mineral lightweight plaster.
Unfortunately, there are so many different bricks and designations (T9-P/MW, T8, etc.) that I can’t figure out which brick would be suitable for our house. Could someone recommend an informative website where I can read up on which brick would be right for our project?
Or should I just not worry about it and leave it all to my architect?
Regards,
Frank

The question about the "right" type of brick – which, by the way, doesn’t really exist – has been asked here so many times that it makes sense for you to start by using the search function on this forum. After that, you’ll know a lot more and have a clearer picture. :-)
By the way, I’ve personally answered this question what feels like 100 times already. :-)
Best regards, Bauexperte
