Hi all,
I am currently working on setting up a network. Through various threads here, I came across Ubiquiti and find their products quite appealing.
Now it’s time to choose the components.
Requirements:
- Support 16 CAT6a network outlets (14 in rooms + 2 spare)
- Support 8 CAT6a with PoE (3x Doorbird, 4x access points, 1 spare)
- Magenta TV
- Internet feed via Telekom Speedport Smart 3
I enjoy reports, statistics, and configuration options but basically do not want to have to adjust settings every day. In other words, everything should primarily "just work."
I have looked into different setups:
Option 1:
- Dream Machine Pro
- Switch-16-150w
- 4 Nano HD
Option 2:
- USG (Pro?)
- Cloud Key
- Switch 24 PoE
- 4 Nano HD
Option 3 – No Unifi
- Any 24-port PoE switch
- 4 matching access points
Between option 1 and 2, I tend to lean toward option 1, since the price difference is minimal. However, when summarizing, the question arose whether such an infrastructure is justified for “this small network.” Hence option 3.
Best regards,
Harv

Supposedly, it supports IPv6 Dual Stack Lite. However, I do not use the device myself, so I have no personal experience with it.

I am now also using the SG250x-24P, works flawlessly, even with Magenta TV and 2 Nano HDsIt’s really an awesome device.
