ᐅ Ikea Besta Living Room: Can Cabinets Be Wall-Mounted One Above the Other?

-Malte-Hello everyone,
since we unfortunately have to move into a rental property again due to the lack of available building land, we have planned the new living room using the Besta system. This raises a question for us regarding wall mounting.
In the Besta system, there are cabinet frames with heights of 64cm (25 inches) and 38cm (15 inches). We want to mount a longer sideboard on the wall. The 64cm (25 inches) option seems a bit too low for us, so we planned to stack two 38cm (15 inches) frames on top of each other (→ total height 76cm (30 inches)). Now I am wondering: how can I properly attach this to the wall? I understand how to stack the frames according to the instructions. For wall mounting, we will use the provided wall rail, but in this case, it will be needed both for the upper and the lower cabinet.
So far that’s clear, but can I really manage to hang the cabinets one above the other using the rails without any gap between them? If this is not feasible, we might have to opt for the 64cm (25 inches) version after all.
Best regards

Thank you all for your feedback – it definitely helps.
At first, I would definitely have gone with ntsa’s approach. Let’s see, unfortunately, it seems that with the wall rail system there is no way to make precise adjustments afterward. So if the rail is not perfectly aligned (even if it shifts slightly when drilling), you end up with a gap. On the other hand, I’m not yet sure if I can trust the Metod system like tomtom does, where the bottom rail supports both. The furniture will be delivered next week, and then I’ll take a closer look on site.

Despite the rails, you still have a bit of leeway for sliding and adjusting. Of course, the holes in the wall need to be reasonably aligned for that. If they are off by 1cm (0.4 inches), it won’t work anymore.
We also have Bestas installed with the living room and dining room units stacked on top of each other, and there were no issues during installation.
