Hey,

I have a set of two of the cameras mentioned above. I had an electrician install an outlet in the eaves on each long side of the house. Now I’m looking for a solution to power the cameras directly through these outlets if possible. I still want to keep the outlets functional for regular use. One option could be installing a second outlet next to each existing one, using the same wiring as a sort of branch. However, the Arlo cameras have relatively long outdoor power cables, which ideally should remain hidden. Does anyone have an idea? Maybe something like an access panel so that the equipment is housed inside the soffit...

Thanks for your suggestions.

I didn’t mean to offend anyone here. Sorry.
The 3m (10 feet) feed cable can be quickly shortened. Then it looks exactly like a camera powered via PoE. Unless the PoE camera has the connector hidden in the base.

There is also a 1.8m (6 feet) "short" cable for the power supply. And yes, something like what was described—pushing the power supply into the roof space—would be my intention; a piece of cable would then stick out and connect to the Arlo.

Thanks for the feedback, even though the question was not directly about the system. It is sufficient for my purposes.

To provide a final update, this is how everything looks now:

The second one is basically mirrored on the other side of the house.

Clean solution with the maintenance hatch. But what is the power outlet still needed for?

For privacy reasons. The intruder can turn off the camera if they don’t want to be recorded.

Possible Christmas lights, like an illuminated star, for example. Or for an extension cord that could then be used for Christmas decorations placed on the floor...
