It has something ... but actually, I don’t like that rusty look, thanks anyway!

What about the lighting?
- Is solar recommended? (I don’t have any wiring there)
- Mounting in the brick or the joint?

Ours is a stainless steel doorbell with a nameplate, about 20cm x 30cm (8 inches x 12 inches). Lighting is not necessary as we have a lantern in front of the house.

Ours is integrated / recessed into the plaster.

Not yet attached to the exterior wall, just laid out on the table as a trial (so slightly crooked). The font is Neutraface, ordered from a shop in the UK.

I’m only concerned about mounting it on the external thermal insulation composite system (ETICS, also known as EIFS). The mounting pins are too thin for ETICS anchors, and the anchors would be visible since the numbers are fixed to the wall using spacers.
