We don’t want clear glass for the small guest toilet window or the stairwell window that is over 3m (10 feet) long. The neighbors are very close.
What would be more advisable in this case and why?
Frosted glass or satin-finished glass? Which looks more high-quality?

And can you get a window over 3m (10 feet) long as a single piece, or is it usually divided into two sections?

I would use clear glass and apply a film to it. If you don’t like it, you can easily remove it later.

Already discussed several times in the forum with all advantages and disadvantages, alternatives such as membranes, etc. Please use the search function.

Sorry, I have little time this week for my usual advice service, but the topic of frosted glass is a current FAQ, and also regarding 3-meter (10-foot) high windows, homeowners have already experienced here that not everything you can design can actually be manufactured that way. In principle, it is possible if you are willing to pay a "premium" price – but for glass (and frames) over 240 cm (8 feet) in height, you will regularly be advised to choose divided units. I wouldn’t want to face this “choice” between the lesser of two evils (awkward opening sash or the entire window fixed). Do yourself a favor and consider an uneven three-part division, with one opening sash that repeats the color of the front door. Symmetrically two- or three-part windows in such cases immediately give the impression to the viewer that “a single unit was too expensive.”

I have already read old posts, but I couldn’t really find anything about frosted glass. Only discussions about pleated blinds and adhesive films.

My question is about frosted glass versus satin glass.

I also don’t really know how I could accurately apply a film to the 3-meter-long (10 feet) glass.

Frosted glass is smooth. Isn't milk glass textured? Or are they essentially the same thing in the end?
