Hello everyone,
we would like to have a louvered roof installed for our terrace. In my online research, it is repeatedly emphasized that such a roof should come from a “reputable” manufacturer with “high-quality workmanship.” But which manufacturers are meant by this? What are your experiences? And of course, which (foreign) manufacturers are good and still affordable? Manufacturer A is great, Manufacturer B not so much?!

So far, I can put the following in the “top” category:
- Warema
- Brustor
- Fledmex
- Renson

Or not?

Best regards and many thanks

Have you already checked if Solarlux offers something suitable?

Are you aware of the costs?
We initially also wanted a louvered roof because I really like the design. However, the roof blocks a lot of light, which is a clear disadvantage compared to a glass canopy. Not all manufacturers are waterproof either.
In my opinion, the price-performance ratio for these roofs is still quite poor. For this reason, we decided on an aluminum-glass roof with automatic shading.
I’m not trying to convince you, just offering a point to consider.

I didn’t see any louvered roof there. However, I find the sliding glass door interesting. But that’s another topic I still need to take care of..

Thank you for the suggestion. My wife is extremely sensitive to sunlight (!), so I think a louvered roof might actually be the right choice for us. Also, in my opinion, glass roofs always look dirty, which is unavoidable. I requested a quote from the Slovenian manufacturer Soltec Agava SL 170/36. The salesperson said they are excellent. The cost for 4.5 x 7.5 m (15 x 25 feet) is about 20k. That’s why I started this thread..

I have a similar issue with the sun and prefer to sit in the shade, but I still favor a glass roof WITH good shading options. Extreme sun isn’t always present, so you can often sit under the glass roof (for example, lovely when it’s raining) and stay dry AND bright. Plus, the glass roof keeps dew off the table and chairs at night.

In my opinion, this is the most flexible option because for much of the year it’s nice to have the sun and natural light.

If your glass roof has some slope, it almost cleans itself. Of course, you will occasionally see some dirt, but I had one for 25 years, and for me it was one of the best decisions to have such a glass roof over the terrace that I can shade as needed.
