Is an air conditioning system necessary for the attic with a roof pitch of 35 degrees facing south, featuring two roof windows and a dormer on the south side? The rooms on the south side, arranged from west to east, are an office, a children's room, and a bedroom.
Opinions vary widely on this. A heat pump with cooling function and a mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery will be installed.
At the moment, the plan is to at least equip the south-facing rooms in the attic and possibly also the ground floor (living/dining area) with air conditioning.

This is what it looks like! A lot depends on how many units need to be supplied and how much capacity is required. Then there is the question of line lengths, since the refrigerant piping is quite expensive.
Additional factors include installation location, brand, and features. For us, with 4 indoor units and a matching outdoor unit, the cost was in the five-figure range. The outdoor unit alone is already a major expense.
But I can say already that it’s worth it. The improvement in living comfort during the warm to hot periods of the year is tremendous. Our bedrooms are under the roof; previously, we would have been sweating in bed. The air conditioning now provides a very comfortable sleeping climate. Additionally, it can be used for heating during transitional seasons, as it is apparently more efficient then than the central heating system.

What are the approximate costs for a central air conditioning system?A general rule of thumb: one euro per watt of installed cooling capacity.
