Hello everyone,

I am getting 36.5cm (14.4 inches) Poroton for the exterior walls. My architect recommends using Poroton for the interior walls as well. However, he can’t really explain the reasoning behind this suggestion. It would be cheaper, though.
I was leaning more towards calcium silicate blocks (no special anchors needed, better sound insulation). What are your thoughts?
Are you in favor of Poroton or calcium silicate blocks? Is calcium silicate really more expensive?

Soundproofing can be considered a valid argument, but anchors? What exactly do you want to hang on the wall? Even if you actually need "special anchors," the quantities aren’t that large.
By the way, an 85-inch TV doesn’t weigh 50 kilograms (110 pounds) and is mounted using more than one screw...

TVs, toilets, washbasins, wall-mounted kitchen cabinets...

Usually, almost all of this is handled by contractors during construction, so it’s not really something you need to worry about. Or are you hoping they’ll give you a discount on anchors? Even if you do it yourself, the total cost for specialty anchors over the entire lifetime of the house won’t even reach four figures. Other houses hold up fine without you having to sit on the toilet on the floor.

Don’t worry too much about it!
I have a 75" TV, including a 5kg (11 lbs) wall mount, hanging on an 11.5cm (4.5 inches) Poroton wall. Nothing happens to it!
I just used standard wall plugs for this.

Edit:
Nowadays, the TV programs are so bad that sometimes I wish the TV would just fall to the floor by itself.

Isn’t a main advantage of sand-lime brick its mass, which allows for good heat storage and thus helps maintain a more constant temperature both in heat and cold?

With Poroton blocks, you just need to make sure to switch your hammer drill from hammer mode to regular drilling. Otherwise, the entire brick will come loose on you.
