Rainario
Hello everyone,
I’m Rainario, 40 years old, a family dad (my daughter Sunshine is 2 years old) and now looking for the right builder for our existing plot.
I have been reading here for a while, but now I have to ask a basic question:
Is there anyone in this forum with recent experience or impressions, especially about the expected waiting times until moving in?
Something similar to the comparison from the thread by user gelbes T.
This seems to be a real issue with the major prefab home builders (and there are understandable reasons for this). Hanse Haus (up to 18 months) and Weberhaus (up to 20 months) are just two examples, I’m afraid. Checking other market leaders probably doesn’t lead to different lead times. Is this always the case with Hanse Haus and Weberhaus?
Smaller/local prefab builders are probably a serious alternative.
Which ones would be worth considering around Landsberg am Lech / Augsburg?
I have come across the company Invivo (solid construction) but haven’t found many noteworthy reviews.
Does anyone know them better or has experience building with them?
Regarding the budget (excluding additional building costs) and without a basement, 300,000 (KfW55 standard without photovoltaic) should ideally be enough; size about 125 square meters (about 1346 square feet). A partially heated basement will be added later, with around 59,000.
However, this does not necessarily make things easier.
Thanks in advance!

How do you know that? You know it too. That’s the situation why we all stay at home. No one can say now how long building a house will take. It would be the art of crystal ball reading, and I even doubt whether it will be delivered at all.
I can understand the question under normal conditions, but right now it is absolutely impossible to answer.

How do you know that, and what consequences do you think the builders will face? On the websites, I read that the model home exhibitions are closed and that consultation sessions are taking place via video chat. Since we are not yet in the actual construction phase, I don’t have any further information. Just ask your builder on Monday, then you will know for sure. I bet he won’t give you a definite answer. First, they will finish the current construction sites, then the rest will follow. The problem is that when one construction project stalls, usually everything stalls. My friend works in construction and has been signed off sick for 14 days, after which he will take vacation. His child has a heart condition, so he’s afraid. He says about 30% of his colleagues are also staying home. I don’t want to cause panic, but he won’t be the only case. It’s like dominos—eventually, more pieces will fall.

I’m very sorry to hear about your friend’s child’s heart condition. It’s good that your friend is acting wisely and carefully, and he can surely count on your support as well.

Markus_F.10 Jul 2020 10:20I am building with Weberhaus and signed the contract in autumn 2019. The selection of fixtures and finishes took place in mid-2020.
Now I am waiting for the quotes from the selection process, but nothing is happening. I was told they are fully booked.
A rough date for the construction was given to me at the beginning of 2021.
Replies to emails are significantly delayed.
What is one supposed to make of this...?
