Hi everyone,
I just got home and I am shocked...
The neighbors had to retain about 60cm (24 inches) in height and now they have installed curbstones right on the property line.
Strangely, the entire concrete retaining wall is actually on our property!

Oh, and our green manure cover crop has been completely trampled, and our small garden bed has been concreted over.

What can I do?

So, it definitely looks much better now!
According to the neighbor, the landscaper admitted his "failure," but I didn’t want to ask about any additional costs this might cause.

there are nicer solutions than the concrete L-block appearance...

What kind of solutions would those be? Natural stone wall?

For example. Basically, 2-3 stones high are enough.
As mentioned, we also had problems with the heights and paid the extra cost for such stones. Our neighbor didn’t mind since he would have had to do something anyway. He just didn’t want additional costs.

A retaining wall with greenery would have looked best to us, but that was a bit expensive.
Otherwise, there are hollow blocks, which are very easy to install. You could then stick facing bricks or tiles on them.

The Frisian wall with greenery would have looked nicest to us, but it was a bit expensive.

I just looked it up. I would also like a Frisian wall.
How much higher are the costs for a natural stone wall approximately? We have this issue too... unfortunately, the neighbor is a bit difficult as well.

You can use L-shaped blocks as a back wall for your own raised garden bed, seating bench, barbecue area, etc. Simply use and design with them.
Of course, ask your neighbor first—they will likely agree, especially if you want to avoid any bad feelings.

Well, nothing will grow 10cm (5 inches) above the base of the retaining wall, or are you planning to add soil there?
