On average, eight months pass in Germany between submitting the building permit application for your dream house and moving in.
Can anyone confirm this? I just read this "statistical value" (?) in a "home magazine" and I am curious about its accuracy. If this is true, that would be great. However, I have never heard or read this figure anywhere else.

That could be. With us, it took a full 12 months: building permit / planning permission submitted 06.18, approved 08.18, old house demolished 09.18, basement 12.18, house frame erected in 2 days 02.19, move-in 06.19.We were even faster with solid construction.
But I still recommend planning at least 12 months.
