ᐅ Construction dust during home building?

The question is already stated above. Our electricians are currently chasing the cables. It’s incredible how much construction dust is generated. How do you handle this? Do you vacuum the shell construction from time to time?

I’m looking forward to hearing about your experiences and appreciate any tips!

Can dust actually damage windows by embedding in them or something like that?
Not embedding, but a plasterer once told me that depending on the type of dust, it definitely needs to be cleaned with moisture; otherwise, you risk scratching the glass. Gypsum plaster dust is harmless, but cement dust can be problematic. Does anyone know more about this topic?

I also think sweeping is pointless or even unhealthy. It stirs up more dust than it removes.

I have an industrial vacuum cleaner, so I'll use that.

Can dust actually embed itself harmfully into windows or something?
In principle, you need to pay attention to the filter class. For fine dust particles, only classes M and H are really suitable (there is even financial support for companies when purchasing these). Class L is only conditionally suitable, though obviously better than nothing. By law, a minimum of class M is required for use on construction sites.

Dust class L with a fleece filter bag usually corresponds to dust class M, just without the industrial requirement for air volume flow monitoring.
The industrial vacuum cleaner has been my constant companion since the shell construction phase. I have already disposed of around 10 full bags.

I actually didn’t know that. Thanks for the information!

We had a cleaning company come in. They cleaned the windows with plenty of soapy water and a cooktop cleaner. The inspection took place only after that.

Regarding dust, be especially careful with the kitchen; it should only be installed once all the dust is gone and all the doors are fitted. Otherwise, the dust can damage the surfaces.
