ᐅ Pulling cables through a conduit (or duct).

Good morning everyone,

I have the following issue. I installed a conduit with an internal diameter of 100mm (4 inches) between the house and the garage.

Inside this conduit, there is already a cable 5*16, a double network cable, and a coaxial cable. The electrician who pulled these cables through back then also pulled a draw wire.

Now, over the weekend, we wanted to pull an additional cable (doorbell) through, but the draw wire must be stuck somewhere, so we cannot pull through from either side.

How can I get my cables through there now? There should still be enough space.

Thanks for your help. Attached is a picture

The empty conduit seems to be the weak point now. Couldn't the new cable be installed next to it as an underground cable or with a new conduit? Cameras and similar equipment cost a huge amount.

Are you referring to the borescope? It cost 27€ (about $30) online.
Well, I didn't have that large conduit installed down there for nothing. I wanted to be able to easily push the cable through.

I’ll keep you updated.

Well, my idea was, if the conduit is blocked, to set aside a small amount of money for the spare one next to it, if possible?

I need to properly expose the other cables first.

I also want to check if they are all still intact. Especially the 5x16mm (5x0.63 inch). I don’t want to have a major short circuit there in two years because the insulation got damaged somehow.

Here I am again. I have now exposed the area.

Open electrical cables in a wall opening of a shell construction with orange and white wires.

Fortunately, the cables are still intact.

Ideas for repair, please.

Carefully cut a piece of conduit lengthwise and slip it over both ends. Then secure it firmly with plenty of tape. There is probably no perfectly clean solution.

Thanks.

I just went to the building supply store because my pipe installer originally got these kabuflex pipes from there. They have couplings specifically for these pipes.

My neighbor still had a 2m (6.5 feet) piece left over. The tricky part is that the cables have to be pulled out up to that point first; otherwise, I can’t get the coupling on.

I’ll keep you updated.
