What ceiling height do you have, and would you choose the same again?

We planned for 2.55 m (8 ft 4 in) on the ground floor and 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in) on the upper floor (height measured after floor structure).

Is a higher ceiling considered to add value when reselling? Is there a trend toward higher ceilings in house construction, or are about 90% of builders satisfied with a ceiling height of around 2.5 m (8 ft 2 in)?

Our documents have already been forwarded to the surveyor. Would the surveyor need to know about a ceiling height increase at this stage, or can this still be done after the surveyor’s work but before completion or submission of the building permit / planning permission?

I hope there will be at least one buyer. Of course, I want to have as many interested parties as possible. For now, I’m primarily building for myself. But it’s good to know that a finished ground floor height of 2.55m (8 ft 4 in) is not considered below standard, especially when I see examples of only 2.4m (7 ft 10 in).
The location is good. The land itself was also very expensive.
Perhaps I should invest the money saved into the interior fittings instead.

May I ask what the additional cost would have been?

I didn’t ask for it. Probably not a huge amount, based on what I’ve read here and there in the forum. I estimate around 2,000 euros with window adjustments.

At 2.55, you are definitely within the safe range.

Yes, tick it off and proceed with other items

If that’s really the case, it would be very affordable. Keep it warm. I’ve been following the thread from the beginning, but I don’t remember who you’re building with? A regional general contractor?

Good luck
