Does anyone have tips for my first steps regarding the selection of an architect?
Would you recommend contacting several architects to receive multiple offers?
How quickly is an initial meeting usually scheduled? Is there a long waiting time?
What does an architect typically cost? Is it possible to get an approximate estimate?

Check the search engine of your choice for HOAI, which regulates what the architect is paid for each service. By the way, if you use a full-service provider, it’s included.
Why a duplex? What do you plan to do with it: rent out the second half, sell the second half, rent out both halves, sell both halves, or do you intend to act as a developer?
