Hello dear forum,
We plan to start building our house the year after next and are currently looking for companies that offer a concept similar to Luxhaus. We have also come across Engelhardt and Geissbauer.
Do you have any other suggestions for companies that provide vapor-permeable walls or have a similar approach?
Best regards

Aha, which ones then?To allow any water vapor that may form inside the wall to diffuse out. This is particularly relevant in timber frame construction. It serves to protect the building. This is how it was explained to me by several carpenters and my architect. It is by no means about letting moisture pass from the inside to the outside. You want to prevent moisture from the interior from penetrating the timber frame, which is why a vapor retarder layer is installed between the interior and the frame. This is usually done with OSB boards, but there are other options as well.H
hampshire1 May 2020 13:44There is no single best wall construction. I assume that moisture protection works well with a reputable builder. How you feel in the house is the key criterion. But how can you judge that if the house hasn’t been built yet? Simply by spending time in other houses or show homes and paying attention to how comfortable you feel. We have noticed that many new houses feel “stuffy,” as if you were inside a sealed container. You would then avoid choosing that type of wall construction.

No matter what you choose, the difference is marginal. It’s more a philosophical question whether to use polystyrene or not.
However, with the option of wood fiberboard, I would be careful to ensure it doesn’t sit "in water" at the base. So, basically, you would still need polystyrene at that spot.
