Hello everyone,

Although our construction doesn’t start until May, we are already thinking about how to make our garden cat-proof. I would appreciate any suggestions, opinions, and cost estimates.

Best regards

I don’t think that is desirable either, but in the end, it will probably resemble the "release" as it is done in animal shelters. So it’s best to inquire there.

Yes, visually it’s not great, but we are very worried about the cats.
The next ones would be introduced to outdoor access from the beginning, so it would be different.
Good idea, @kaho674, that’s a good approach.

In case anyone is interested: I found "empasa fiberglass pet mesh cat protection screen fabric" sold by the meter at a major online retailer, which has very good reviews. You would probably have to make something yourself with it to close off the terrace. There are insect screen doors available for the entrances.
Well, we’ll see, there’s still some time...

Complete outdoor access is not ideal for the cats described here.

There are construction guides and blogs available, especially where many cat owners gather. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to post links.

Thanks, I’ll have a look there...

Give it a try. I only have free-roaming cats, and the foster cats were always kept in just one room until they could be taken to the animal shelter.
