Hello,
Is it possible to use the existing heating oil tank as a diesel tank? Is a permit/planning permission required? And is it possible to get approval? The heating oil tank is already installed flood-proof in a flood-prone area. Thank you.

What savings are you expecting if you still have to install the filling point (how much does that cost? Around €1,000 (about $1,100) or more for private use) and the "fuel station area" (several thousand euros) and partly have to leave it unused for a while?

Chemically, definitely not a problem, but the fire load Diesel does not burn. It does not explode either. You could even use it to extinguish a burning match.

It’s basically the same, just that diesel isn’t dyed Diesel and light heating oil only differ in taxation and coloring.
Using the tank is technically not an issue or a safety risk.
