Hello, we are building a bungalow with a gable roof at a 35-degree pitch. It will have a U-shaped layout.
Now the question is whether to choose a 50 cm (20 inches) or 60 cm (24 inches) roof overhang.
I tend to go for the 50 cm (20 inches) overhang, since our house is not very tall (6.3 m / 20.7 ft) and I think large roof overhangs make the house look smaller visually.
Has anyone faced the same question?
Does anyone have a photo of a 50 cm (20 inches) roof overhang?
My architect says it doesn’t really matter and is only a matter of appearance. The facade would be equally protected either way.
(I prefer a modern look)
Thanks to everyone.

At 60 (from 50), the entire overhang is included in the built-up area.
Use the 50!Hello, does this apply nationwide?bauenmk2020 schrieb:
Hello, does this apply nationwide? No. In Schleswig-Holstein, Baden-Württemberg, and North Rhine-Westphalia, for example, it is 1.50 meters (5 feet).NI says
