Hello everyone,
We urgently need sun protection for our patio door. We are considering a fabric screen from the company Roma. The advantage is that it still lets light into the room and we don’t have to look at slats. We have now received an initial quote and were a bit surprised. The door is 375cm (148 inches) wide and 260cm (102 inches) high, with a sliding element.
We would like it to be divided into two sections.
The first company wants 3000€ for this, and it would be operated with a manual crank, so without a motor. Now we are wondering if the price is realistic or if it is more of a deterrent offer, or whether we should rather consider a venetian blind (also called a louvered blind or shutter).
Because 3000€ for one door seems a bit excessive to us!
Saludos Miguel

And what’s wrong with that? Which cardinal direction is that? Have you considered that the sun might be more vertical in summer? Hello kbt,
Of course, we have taken into account that the sun is higher in summer. We would like some shading because our refrigerator and dining table will be placed exactly in that area. That’s why we were thinking about textile screens, as they still allow quite a bit of light in. However, I found the quote of €3000 (about $3200) a bit steep, especially since it didn’t include a motor. I just wanted to check here if that price is reasonable and if Venetian blinds might be a bit cheaper.
But I will get a second quote and then decide.
Best regards

So, which direction is it now?South!C
chokies12616 Apr 2020 11:42We have just obtained a quote as well, but for venetian blinds. Our kitchen window measures 257 x 255 cm (101 x 100 inches) with one fixed pane and one opening element, and the cost is €1240, though this does not include installation. This might not help you completely, but perhaps it gives a rough idea.
