How did you handle the glass in the bathroom windows on the ground floor? Frosted glass or clear glass with a curtain/blind?

The ground floor bathroom is located directly on the path to the front door, meaning every visitor passes by it on their way to the entrance.

Therefore, we considered using fully frosted glass, but maybe that would make it too dark?!?

In our current apartment bathroom, we also have textured glass (on the inside layer of triple glazing, so both sides are smooth for easy cleaning). It is still very bright! I’m not sure if it’s a better option than frosted glass since we have no comparison, but my feeling is that frosted/matte glass is darker.

Well, I just took a photo of the window in the guest bathroom. No flash, no editing. The window faces the north side of the house. The plant on the windowsill was a housewarming gift and has been there since October 2018, about 1 1/2 years. Maybe that also gives an idea of how dark satin glass really is, or how much light actually passes through it.

At work, we frosted the ground floor windows facing the street, and it is unpleasant not being able to look outside.
I honestly can’t imagine not being able to look outside in my own home either, if I wanted to.

I completely understand that. It’s the same for me. Maybe we’ve just found the reason why men are always so quick to get out of the bathroom…

Okay, there is brightness, but this is how it looks in our place. We didn’t choose it ourselves, since we’re renting here, but we actually like the window. How we will do it in our house is still unclear. The bathroom on the upper floor will have a roof window, but we are still undecided about the guest toilet.

PS: No idea why the pictures aren’t displayed rotated?!

Frosted, textured glass window; irregular patterns from dark on the left to light on the right.

Definitely clear glass. You have much more flexibility. We installed interior pleated blinds that you can adjust and look outside through. No one can see inside. It works perfectly.
