Hello everyone,
We are just at the very beginning of our planning process. We have now received a quote from the architect for the design of our semi-detached house. €8,100 for 3 design versions (meaning if the house needs to be completely redesigned three times).
What do you think of this price? That would be €4,050 per half of the house. Is this a reasonable price? What did you pay your architect?
Thank you very much in advance for your answers!

The offer includes 3 preliminary designs.
The houses will look the same from the outside, but the interior layouts will differ slightly (for example, I prefer a walk-in closet, while the other homeowner would rather have a larger bathroom).
Best regards!

The offer includes 3 preliminary designs. And will the selected one be revised as often as necessary until it is ready for approval? – does the price cover only the service phases up to and including approval readiness, or also construction drawings, site supervision, and so on?https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/

Phew, unfortunately, I can't answer that for you right now... but those are good questions that I can still discuss with the architect before we accept or decline the offer.
Thank you!

There is theoretically a lot included – but at this price, you shouldn’t expect much.
According to the official fee regulations, one could charge around €50,000 to €80,000 (about $54,000 to $86,000) for what is offered (or what theoretically should be included). You can then compare this to the €8,000 (about $8,600) and decide if that is acceptable.

What exactly do you mean by your answer?
Are you asking whether one can live with it? The compromises that have to be made?

what exactly do you mean by the answer? ... probably that according to HOAI, it should definitely be “below list price.” Unless that only applies to the preliminary design phases (= work phases 1–2).
