Hello everyone,

After months of waiting, our shower doors finally arrived. Unfortunately, the door in the guest bathroom broke into thousands of pieces during installation. Fortunately, I had hired an installation service from the manufacturer and didn’t install it myself. The installer was lucky to only be startled and was unharmed. Apart from some damage to the walls and tiles, we have a shower tray in the guest bathroom which has several small chips.

Is this serious, or are these primarily cosmetic defects?
There are repair specialists for bathtubs and similar surfaces. Does it make sense to use such a service, or should I insist on a replacement? Can they restore the appearance perfectly?

Best regards and stay healthy.

Hello

Is the bathtub made of steel, acrylic, or mineral cast?
Please upload some pictures

Hello,

I’m not exactly sure what material this is. It is a Kaldewei Superplan.

Brown cardboard package lying in a white shower enclosure with glass wall and tiles.

White wall with slight lines; dark stain and photographer’s shadow in the bottom left.

Edit: These streaks next to the chip are dirt.

Hello

It is a steel bathtub.
I can't really assess the damage properly based on the size.
Tendentially, I would recommend repairing it. The effort to replace a tiled bathtub is huge, especially to ensure proper waterproofing afterwards.
Kaldewei offers repair kits for such damages. That would be my choice.

But in this case, the liability insurance of the door manufacturer should cover it!

Okay, I already expected the amount of work involved. Does it have to be repaired now, or can it be left as is, being just a cosmetic defect?

In that case, the door manufacturer’s liability insurance should definitely cover it!
I agree. That’s what liability insurance is for. I just know that they
