Hello,
after moving in, we are now looking for lighting, specifically a pendant light for our dining table.
The dining table (1 meter wide, 2 meters long) is centered directly under the ceiling power outlet.
We definitely want a fixture with multiple lights, so around 3 to 4 bulbs.
Regarding the height, I have read that the lights should hang at least 60cm (24 inches) above the tabletop to avoid being in the way.
However, we are unsure about the width and length. With 80cm (31 inches) wide fixtures, there is still a decent selection, but anything larger becomes more limited. Would you consider 80cm (31 inches) sufficient for a 200cm (79 inches) table?
The table can be extended to 3 meters (118 inches), but that is rarely done and only for bigger gatherings or similar occasions.

We faced the same problem. 80 cm (31.5 inches) was far too narrow for our dining table in terms of appearance. Our table measures 100 x 220 cm (39.5 x 86.5 inches). It also had to be something delicate. We decided on this 120 cm (47 inches) long "Santander" lamp (price about 250 EUR, was discounted a bit). Best regards

Table 200cm (79 inches), light fixture 140cm (55 inches), table extended 300cm (118 inches), light fixture simply not optimized for that. I don’t have the manufacturer on hand right now, but I’m happy to find out on request.
