What do you think of this layout for the upper floor?

Floor plan of a house with two children's rooms, bedroom, walk-in closet, bathroom, and hallway.

I am also missing the details from the questionnaire that was completed only once—but carefully. The design should be yours, but neighbors (which houses do they have?) are being consulted to justify that the floor plan works in terms of window placement (???).

I also don’t see any site plan, apart from the north arrow that was included.

At least, I would consider rotating the basement stairs. I like least that they open directly into the living area; also, the window situation and the location of the children’s rooms are not ideal—@Alessandro: very good alternative suggestion!
I did not understand the corner and knee wall supports on the upper floor, nor the change from 11.5 to 12.5 cm (4.5 to 5 inches) thick walls, apparently made of a different material, but here too the legend is missing.

Yes. Why is there no window on the south side? The house is completely planned the wrong way in terms of natural light. Living areas, especially children’s rooms and the dining room, should ideally receive direct sunlight from the south. The kitchen can also manage with natural light. The living room is a matter of personal preference; if it is only used as a TV room in the evening, it can face away from the light. However, if you spend daytime with your children playing in the living room, it should also be on the sunny side.

In bathrooms, utility rooms, and the master bedroom, sunlight is usually less important, so those rooms are better oriented to the north.

A site plan or excerpt from the building permit or local zoning plan often helps to understand why the homeowner might have specific needs that differ from these usual standards (for example, a noisy main road or an unsightly high-rise to the south). Please provide such documents. This can offer very valuable insights but only works if you provide sufficient information yourself.

But it only works if you are not stingy with information yourself.

It only works if there is no response to thumbnail images or if questionnaire participation is declined.
