Are there any experiences or recommendations regarding the cladding of the roof overhang, which is 50cm (20 inches) wide? Wood or plastic panels?

We chose plastic. The decision was made relatively quickly without much discussion between my wife and me. However, we have two full stories, and the roof overhang is at a height of 6m (20 feet). At this height, the appearance is secondary... you can’t tell whether it’s painted wood or plastic...

I would feel the need to smooth that out with sandpaper and paint it uniformly.
Tastes are just different. I think the building you chose is a great example showing that apartment buildings don’t have to rise from the ground looking like sterile foreign objects.
Many of us live in a "neatly organized" world where nature near our homes is seen as "dirt," yet we vacation in areas with beautiful villages and landscapes. Hmm, what do you think really makes those villages and landscapes special? Find the mistake.

Telling if it’s cheap junk won’t take twenty years in either case (for example, with plastic, you can see the difference between white and vanilla beige).

I get the impression that these days a property is considered “not clean enough” unless the land looks like it was scraped perfectly smooth with a screed. I haven’t yet looked into whether weekend hikers on holiday seek hotels where there are still soap dishes with edges.

Honestly, I can’t stand it anymore. The rock gardens with one or two potted plants, the stainless steel door handles, the bare LED lights, the gray windows and gray roofs, the paved driveways ending in double garages, the absence of trees and bushes, the cherry laurel as the ultimate symbol of greenery, the stainless steel mailboxes, the city villas—white, sterile, harsh, disinfected, and clean... like the music of Modern Talking or Lena Fischer.

My three single garages – nothing looks nicer than paved compared to gravel, and that was good enough for both the Fiorano Spider and the Agila – are scattered all over the village (in town you walk anyway, partly to delay the moment when it looks like there are a hundred). Does anyone else here still listen to Cpt. Beefheart?

I don’t know who’s worse, those who complain about it or those who designed it. It reminds me of the shared apartment I had with my ex—everyone was a sociology student but the worst gossips.
