Are there any experiences or recommendations regarding the cladding of the roof overhang, which is 50cm (20 inches) wide? Wood or plastic panels?

Roof overhang 60cm (24 inches), larch timber, rough-cut, untreated – will gradually turn gray over time and lasts "forever".

However, it is very expensive. High-quality Finnish larch, which is naturally resistant to rot and can be used untreated outdoors, costs a lot. Spruce, on the other hand, is affordable construction timber but needs to be protected with Consolan or a similar preservative.

Why, I think it looks really nice. Sleek was yesterday, today it’s all about character again.

Seriously? Something like that would drive me crazy. I would feel the need to sand it down and paint it evenly. But wood has never been my thing; I hated that during the construction technology classes.
