Perfect weather to test the ZippScreensWhich manufacturer are your ZippScreens from?@tumaa take a look. During the day, you can’t see inside, but you can faintly see out. However, it’s the opposite at night—when the interior lights are on, you can’t see outside clearly, but people outside can faintly see in. I will test it and report back on whether it’s really that bad.
@Müllerin As @rick2018 rightly points out, they come in various levels of transparency and fabric types. We chose the “sun protection” option only, because the fully opaque and thus darkening fabrics were not recommended to us. Those tend to wrinkle easily and might differ in color from the sun protection zips. I can’t say if that’s true.
We also have curtains, which mainly emphasize the architecture of the house. At least, I hope so!!
The reason we chose the zips is due to construction requirements. We definitely wanted full room height and very wide windows, which would have conflicted with the relatively large cassette boxes needed for traditional roller shutters in timber construction. External cassette boxes were not an option for us, so we went with the zips. They are also less vulnerable to wind and hail damage.
Of course, these are significantly more expensive than roller shutters, which was obvious.
@Baufie I hope it’s okay to say it here: Roma

Did you have to point this out to your plumber, or did he take care of it himself?Of course, he did NOT handle it on his own...
...I politely brought it to the attention of both him and my general contractor.
Later, my general contractor told me that the plumber had gotten "nervous" and quickly installed the protective sleeves yesterday. He wanted to avoid any potential warranty issues.
