Hello, we have now received a quote from a general contractor for our planned single-family house, which we actually liked.

However, a prefab house builder told us that if the house is built with solid construction, insulation should definitely be installed as well, otherwise mold problems will occur.

What do you think? KfW energy efficiency standards are not relevant in this case.

Aerated concrete proves the opposite.
... absolutely right ... aerated concrete (Hebel / Ytong) is "almost" the perfect building material for single-family home builders ... only with the ceilings there are soundproofing issues, but this problem can also be resolved ... and the roof panels made of aerated concrete (Hebel) are absolutely perfect ...

Not at all!
.. so, E.Curb ... you don’t seem to have much expertise in building materials.
.. with comments like that, you’re only confusing homebuilders and laypeople ... or are you a layperson yourself?

You unsettle homebuilders and laypeople with such incorrect posts

Whether the readers want to trust me or you is for them to decide. I have outlined some building physics reasons. On the other hand, I find your justification for aerated concrete in a neighboring thread rather weak........

so why any more reasons, I have shared my opinion to make your decision easier

And somehow I can't shake the feeling, I can’t help it, but: Are you perhaps working in the building materials industry? Your qualified and well-founded posts leave me with no other conclusion. Maybe one of the famous aerated concrete manufacturers?

Hello,
I have now read through the entire thread, but there doesn’t seem to be a clear, simple answer to the question, or I may have overlooked it.
Since I also have 36cm (14 inches) Ytong from 1980, I am asking again here: Does additional insulation make sense? At least on the north and weather-exposed sides? So far, I have had no issues with mold, dampness, or ventilation.
Please keep answers focused. Thanks!!!!!
