ᐅ Facade Paint – No Agreement in Sight...

Good evening everyone,
my husband and I have been discussing for some time now which color our house’s exterior should be. It is a single-story house with a (converted) pitched roof, with the eaves side facing the street. The options are:
1. “Standard new build color combination”: roof, windows (and front door) anthracite, facade white
2. Roof anthracite, windows (and front door) white, facade gray. Similar to the example shown (found on the Pinterest page of Contract Vario)

House with dark tiled roof, solar panel, gray facade, wooden terrace, and garden furniture.

Here are the advantages I identified for both options:
1: More premium appearance?
Standard look, generally preferred? – Higher resale value?
Dark front door less prone to showing dirt
2: Cheaper (white windows cost us about 20% less)
Facade may appear cleaner for longer?
Windows don’t heat up as much (popping/cracking – which we experienced in our last house with dark windows)
More eye-catching look

What are your thoughts?

I assume you have looked at uPVC windows with wood finish? I ask because I personally like light wood finishes and hope that the frames will require less cleaning than white frames. We will probably decide based on the additional cost.

Are there uPVC windows with wood finish?! When the time comes, we might look into it again. So far, we only know wooden frames, wood-aluminum combinations, or uPVC—usually in white or colored coatings—but brown coatings just look like brown coatings, not like wood^^

Regards

We have windows from Aluplast in the Sheffield Oak light finish. If you don’t know, you can’t tell. Experts only notice it at the mitered corners.

The facade colors are from Farrow & Ball: "Jitney" (a sandy tone) and "De Nimes" (a fairly dark blue-gray). The roof tiles are Braas Tegalit in Granite.

This is definitely not a mainstream choice, but neither white nor gray windows or facades were options for us. Honestly, I’m completely fed up with those uniform new housing developments. Life is colorful! I don’t understand how most people want to live their lives in colorless blocks. Just my opinion

There’s no plaster on yet!

For the front door, we also have options with wood-colored finishes. Does anyone know how this compares to a real wooden door?

Joker. Most of the photos look familiar to me already, but I was specifically referring to the mentioned miter joint details. I already know how houses with windows look.

Please clarify your question—what exactly do you want to know?

I would also like light wood finishes for the windows and French doors and hope the additional cost remains reasonable. In any case, I’m already looking forward to having to clean the window frames less often.
