Hello everyone,
We are about to purchase a plot of land that slopes down from the street. For this reason, we want to first consider what is technically possible before buying it. The biggest challenge seems to be the height of the garage built on the property line if we want to build at street level. Here is a picture of the situation:

Unfortunately, with a base that raises the ground and a garage height of, let's say, 3 meters (10 feet), the permitted height of 3.20 meters (10.5 feet) required in Rhineland-Palatinate would be exceeded. What possible solutions do you see?
Thank you in advance.

Unfortunately, the development plan states that measurements must be taken from the original terrain. Then take a leaf out of @Nordlys's book and adjust it: leave out the garage and only build the extension for the workbench.https://www.instagram.com/11antgmxde/

I’ve never understood where people put all their stuff then... Then just gravel it again: "leave out the garage" – no one said "leave out the garage extension." Workbench, winter tires, and other odds and ends have a dry place; only the car stays outside – the Pirelli calendar won’t get wet.

No, in your case it’s a single-chamber bin. You have integrated the attachment function into the main chamber and omitted the rear chamber. That’s why I call it “a variation of your concept” – by leaving out the main chamber, which is relevant here due to height issues. Rolling the trash bin up a slight incline saves the desk-bound person a trip to the gym, and the car doesn’t need to be a four-wheel drive just for a small ramp.

I really hope to live to see the time when I don’t need a car at all. Owning a car is the most pointless money drain of modern times—it loses about 25% of its value as soon as it’s first registered. Once Apple’s autonomous Siri car is ready, I’ll get their app, pay the yearly fee, and then a vehicle will arrive on its own. I just get in and say, “Siri, please drive me to the harbor,” and my elderly neighbor needs to go to the hairdresser. Then I get a nudge from her, and Siri drives us there. When we’re finished, I call the app again, and Siri picks us up for the return trip. Even when I get a bit older and don’t speak as clearly, that’s no problem—Siri will still understand me. That’s how I want it to be.
