Hello everyone,
The planned construction start for our approximately 160m² (1,722 sq ft) bungalow is scheduled for early 2013. We are currently still in the planning phase. Now the question arises: which heating system should we choose? Can you recommend anything?
I would like to move away from oil or gas heating systems. Technically, I am already convinced of pellet heating, but I would prefer to be independent. What alternatives are left then? Heat pump?
Best regards, EarlGrey

Thank you very much for the many responses so far. I realize I still need to clarify a few details before finding the right heating system for the house.
However, I would still appreciate information from other homeowners about their choice of heating system and the reasons behind it.

Best regards, EarlFor me, it was relatively simple. Natural gas is not available in our development area. I also didn’t build with a basement, so oil and pellet systems were ruled out.
Heating with wood for life, like 100 years ago, as the previous poster plans, was not an option for me, nor did I want to bury a gas tank on the property.
So the simplest option left was an air source heat pump.
Thanks @Häuslebauer40 and @Mark,
how satisfied are you with your air source heat pump?
What does a unit like that cost? What is the actual performance when it is freezing cold outside? Or do you have any other personal positive or negative experiences with this heating system?
