to those of you who have a pantry: what kind of shelving do you have inside? We wanted to put in the Ikea Boaxel shelving unit or the Ivar shelving, but due to the door they don’t quite fit. What alternatives are you using?

I would recommend a rail system like this:

Advantages: you can fit it precisely, making optimal use of every available space. Instead of standard shelves, we used leftover materials from construction, for example (we had many plywood panels left over, which we cut to size ourselves).
This is cost-effective, flexible, and truly customizable to the room. Another major advantage compared to classic basement shelving units like Ivar is that there are no cross braces, so the shelving can run continuously along the entire length of the wall.

Instead of using white wooden boards, choose wooden planks and replace the white rail system with a metal one – it creates a stylish industrial look.
Honestly: ready-made wooden shelves that don’t fit properly and have those crossbars are just junk. A pantry is usually set up based on practical reasons rather than aesthetics; it should simply provide as much storage space as possible. I’ll save the budget for nicer rooms.

Okay thanks, I know the system but my wife wants something made of wood, something like Ivar. Do you maybe have a tip for that?Form follows function.
The frame has a purpose that isn’t fulfilled by wood (including Ivar).
The rail system is wonderfully flexible. Also, when the shelves are loaded, you hardly see the rails at all.
